Chapter 12

Questions: When Bill tells Jess that Leslie loved him, he also starts to say something else. Finish what
Bill was going to say, "She told me once that if it weren't for you...."
What does Jess mean when he says that Leslie has left him stranded like an astronaut on
                     the moon?

Vocabulary: knocker, snicker, smothering, mushy, cremated, retrieved, bold

Enrichment: Imagine Jess had chosen to describe his feelings through his art work rather than throwing his art supplies in the creek. Pretend to be Jess and create a piece of art that shows what you think he must have been feeling during that time.

  1. Bill was going to say "if it wasn't for you,Leslie wouldn't be dead.I think that because Jess went D.C.,and that's the time Leslie died.

Jess means that Leslie left Jess alone when people made fun of him.I also have no clue why Leslie did.-Zayne

  3. I think Bill was going to say that "She told me once if it wasn't for you she wouldn't be just as happy as she was.
When Jess had said Leslie left him stranded on the moon like a astronaut he meant that he is all alone with nobody to be with at school and at Terebithia.- Nadia
